STARS 16AAA'S STAY UNDEFEATED

Las Vegas Ice Center - Las Vegas, NV October 4, 2008 - Nevada Stars 16AAA's stayed undefeated today by tying the Cal Heat 0 - 0 in a scoreless but exciting game. Between the pipes for the Stars was Jason Campbell who also kept his undefeated record intact. Jason faced about twenty shots and made it look very uneventful in net. Jason received high praise from head coach Micah Sanford and the coaching staff for his efforts. At times it appeared the Stars would seal the deal with several multiple shot attacks on the Heat's goalie but he would not relinquish a goal.  As good as Campbell was in goal his counterpart was equally as good. The Stars get another chance for a win tommorrow morning at 7:15am in a rematch at Las vegas Ice center.

STARS 16AAA MAKE IT THREE IN A ROW OVER MISSION

Las Vegas Ice Center - Las Vegas, NV October 4, 2008 - The Nevada Stars 16AAA team made it three wins in a row over the Mission Red team from Phoenix, but this time at home.  Cody Milligan started off the scoring with a goal at 11:27 of the second period assisted by Chase Jackson. The Stars would score twice more in the second period both by Cory Ward his first two goals of the season. Chace Jackson picked up assist on both goals along with Luke Lindholm on Ward's second goal.  Mission picked up their only goal on a breakaway in the third period when Brittney Brooks  in net managed to save the initial shot but was unable to stop the follow up rebound.  Chace Jackson scored the final goal with assist going to Lindholm and Ward.  The "green line" picked up nine points in the game with Jackson's four, Ward's three and Lindholm adding two points. Again they all played very well as a team and got the job done. Next up this afternoon is the California Heat.
